Last month, at 25 weeks pregnant I had my maternity shoot with Lori Dorman Photography. They’re located in Glendale, CA. This is my second maternity shoot with them. I did my first one a year and a half ago, when I was 30 weeks pregnant with Gio. I posted all those pictures in this post: My First Maternity Shoot with Lori Dorman. Check it out to see the difference
I also made a blog post about my Behind The Scenes shots of both my maternity shoots I did this year: one with Lori and the other with Von Jackson. I talked a bit about my concerns with using Lori for the second time, because I was afraid it would be too similar to my photoshoot with Gio. However, I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out! I’m so so so glad I did it! Not only did it turn out absolutely different, but I think it topped the first one
The coolest thing about using Lori Dorman is that she provides wardrobe! That has got to be the biggest headache when it comes to planning for your maternity shoot. I know it was for me. The first time I did it, I wasn’t aware that she had a closet full of vintage skirts and tutus and corsets, you name it. So I went in with a suitcase full of stuff! I ended up using some of them, but majority was all part of Lori’s wardrobe! The second time around I just didn’t stress about it at ALL. Matter of fact, I ordered and picked the dresses I was going to wear last minute. One was from ASOS, one was a Michael Costello dress I had custom ordered a while back, and the other one was a dress from Sew and Trendy Accessories. Gio’s outfits were purchased from @littledarlingssss and my crystalized belt for the tan chiffon dress was from @customcreations.ar
I think cutting my hair short vs. having it long like last time makes a difference too. It just gives my pictures a whole new look. But we also shot in different settings for the most part so that we could keep it unique. Lori had me driving to some parks and hidden spots. I was just shaking my head like where is she taking me! But she’s creative GENIUS i swear. Cuz I definitely didn’t picture those shots to come out the way they did! So I’m glad I went with it.
Ok enough blabbing….here are the pictures! There’s a ton so you’ll get tired pretty soon lol!
70 images later…and that’s it! There’s actually more but I figured I’ll save you the pain haha.
Curious to read what you guys think so please feel free to share! If you do book Lori, tag me in your photos. I’d love to see them! Something about maternity pictures that I just love! They’re always so peaceful and make me feel happy!
