We decided to announce our second baby’s name at our baby shower! Truth is, my husband and I had decided on Charlie before we even knew we were pregnant. If we were having a girl it would have been spelled Charlee, but if a boy, then Charlie! So Charlie it is! There is no special story or significance to the name other than the fact that we both love it and it’s a good, strong, traditional name. Perhaps I’m just so tired of having to spell my name left and right or teaching others how to pronounce it correctly that I wanted something simple and easy for both of my kids
My theme for this shower was Vintage Tea Party. Some may think that’s “too girly” but I personally love it. I had such a great time not only planning it, but also experiencing it with close friends and family. How often do you really get the chance to get dressed up with hats and gloves on, sip on tea and eat delicious desserts? I sure as heck rarely get a chance to! This second pregnancy has gone by so fast for me. I feel like it was just yesterday I took the video of my pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant, and today I’m 34 weeks and 2 days. Less than 6 weeks and he’s going to be here!!!!
My pregnancy with George was so different!!! I remember counting down the days literally. I even had a book with all of the days of pregnancy and on each page they’d tell you how much the baby grew or what he/she was doing in your tummy. I read that thing daily! Talk about being bored with nothing to do. With Charlie on the other hand, I can’t find a moment to breathe. I’ve been slacking on blogging but I have been focused on launching http://www.ittybittytoes.com so that’s been my focus at the moment. Now that the online boutique is up and running I’ve spent some of my last few days working on organizing Charlie’s nursery and setting up Gio’s new room. It’s never ending I swear. I promised to continue blogging about my entire experience with opening an online store and I intend on keeping that promise so my goal after this post is to make another one about Itty Bitty Toes.
Ok, back to this baby shower! I hired two photographers for the event. One is my friend Jeff Evrard from http://www.jeffevrardphotography.com/ who I’ve always used for any events I’ve had. And the other one was referred to me by my event planner, Connie. I have yet to receive those pictures so they won’t be included in this post
There are so many people I have personally thanked and would like to thank again for making it all happen that day! I’m normally a super hands on type of person. I’m picky and I know this so to avoid any misunderstandings or any problems I usually get involved in every aspect of any project I am doing. But because I was so busy with IBT (Itty Bitty Toes), I left it all on my event planner’s hands for the most part. She did an amazing job! Connie, if you are reading this, THANK YOU! You and your whole team at Divina Designs are amazing!
Then there’s Buds N Blooms in Los Angeles; a husband and wife decor and floral company that can turn any vision you have into reality, and they do it all from scratch and by hand! Unbelievable I swear! Together with Connie they put together an amazing, amazing event! They came all the way to Kansas City to make all of the backdrops, floral arrangements, huge life size tea cups at the entrance, decorate the gazebo with leaves, umbrellas and pearls everywhere, you name it! They did it! All I did was show them pictures from pinterest of ideas I liked and they made it all come to life! So Marco and Marisol, THANK YOU! I already told you for my wedding one day you guys will be on board! My husband and I got married two years ago but haven’t had a wedding yet…soooooo that’s coming at some point. Hopefully sooner than later but I have to pop a baby first and then shed these pounds off before I can think of fitting into a wedding gown :)
I’m going to just stop blabbing and instead I’ll post all the pictures and give details on each product/vendor we used as I go. First starting with Phillips Hotel. We rented their Crystal Ballroom for this event! They are amazing to work with! Leslie and Theresa, THANK YOU! You guys have been wonderful, esp with my last minute requests! Thank you thank you!
